To everything,

there is a season.

Wheel-of-the-Year-2.gif

turn, turn, turn

In the fiery brightness of summer, we shine and play. Then we slow and heal with the harvest as the shadows return. In the dreamy quiet of winter, we undergo deep restoration. Then we emerge, seedlings of the fertile spring, as the light grows strong again.

Our seasonal facial rituals heal and nourish so that you can glow, then restore and fortify so that you can brighten. It is our pleasure to provide you with fresh botanical self-care on your journey Once Around The Sun.

“You could stoop down and pick a fallen petal, crush it between your fingers, and you had there, in the hollow of your hand, the essence of a thousand scents, unbearable and sweet. All from a curled and crumpled petal.”

-Daphne du Maurier, Rebecca

Once Around the Sun products are made in a kitchen, just like food. Our products are fresh - no isolated chemicals, fillers, preservatives or alcohol. Every ingredient’s use is thoughtfully chosen whether kept in raw form, steam distilled to make hydrosol, or cold pressed into oil. Our process is the same as cooking, and every batch is made with love.

We design and craft our packaging with foraged natural plant dyes and inks, organic cotton muslin, glassware and dried or fresh plant materials. Our cosmetics tubs are made of paperboard that biodegrades in 3 months. Every bit of our packaging and shipping materials can be reused or recycled. Every step of our craft is inspired by nature.

fresh ingredients

We source living botanicals in three ways: directly from organic farms; wild-harvested from personal gardens, arboretums and backyards; or foraged by hand in a wild ecosystem. Our ingredients are plant-based with a few thoughtful exceptions: responsibly-sourced honey and beeswax, organic egg white, and raw goats milk from happy goat mamas.
